ALPENGLOW is a longstanding initiative by STANIM (Styrian association for new and improvised music). This ninth edition represents collaboration between the Styrian improvisers and Serbian musicians. First part of the festival took place in Novi Sad on 25-26 October 2024 at Student cultural centre. Collective Studio 6, represented by myself and Jasna Jovićević, Serbian saxophone and scholar femme formidable, were hosts and managing and performing in the two day gathering. There were 26 participants from Austria and Serbia, performing in trios and collective conductions. We had the most amazing time!
The concerts were part of concert series 2K+, another long standing anti-festival bringing new music in most diverse forms to Novi Sad on a regular basis.
